Blown glass wish ball measuring 230mm diameter decorated in the decalcomania technique, Sunderland 1829


  • The paper cutting are held in place on the interior of the glass with perishing plaster based material.
  • The glass ball is broken into three sections with associated running cracks.


  • To meet a short deadline for exhibition a simple stabilisation treatment was undertaken.
  • The Japanese tissue tapes are help in place with EVA which is easily reversible should a more comprehensive treatment be undertaken.
