Conservation Button Estimates
Please note that our estimates are not quotations. The complex nature of the work involved means that additional problems may be discovered during treatment. If this indicates a cost increase of more that 10% on the original estimate we will notify the client and await further instructions before proceeding. The client will be entitled to withdraw the object or objects upon payment for the work already done. For the same reason, any time estimates or guidelines can only be given as an indication. We cannot guarantee completion by a given date, as the well being of the object or objects must be given prime concern.

Where an estimate or quotation for repair, conservation and/or restoration is required for insurance or adjustment purposes, the time taken to prepare that estimate or quotation may be charged at our current rates. This amount will be deducted from the final charges if the work is undertaken by us. If our estimate or quotation is not accepted, settlement of a quotation invoice will be due on receipt.

Conservation Button Payment
Payment is due on receipt of invoice unless other arrangements have been agreed in advance in writing. Payment is required before collection of the object or objects. We reserve the right to retain all objects deposited until all outstanding sums have been paid. If any charges remain unpaid for a period of three months from issue of the invoice we reserve the right (after giving 14 days notice to the client) to sell the relevant object or objects through a reputable auction house. After deducting the cost of sale, the outstanding sum or sums (including accrued interest and administrative costs) we will pay the balance of the remaining balance to the client.

If any invoice is not paid within 14 days of due date interest will be charged on the unpaid sum at the rate of 4% per annum above the Midland Bank plc base interest rate from time to time until we receive payment.

Conservation Button Delivery and Collection
Clients are responsible for delivering and collecting their objects to and from our studios. A nationwide collection and delivery service is available and should this be required it will be charged at nominal commercial rates. After 30 days of notification of completion we reserve the right to charge a fee for storage and further expenses. After a further six months we reserve the right to dispose of the object as we think fit.

Conservation Button Insurance Whilst Onsite and During Carriage
Objects will be insured against all normal risks and the level of insurance will be disclosed to the client. If the object is returned to the client in a carrier system the value of the object plus the restoration/conservation work will be charged at the clients cost.
